walking on a hill covered in silver grass
Eiluned woke up. Once again, it was as though her dreaming had been shattered by that sudden stop. She didn't understand the dreams… but every night they seemed more real. It was a fantasy world, where magic met technology, and she was more at home there than anywhere else.
She closed her eyes and tried to recall her most recent dream… but she was interrupted by her mother calling her down to breakfast.
"Eiluned! Come down! Your breakfast is getting COLD." Deidre crossed her arms in irritation over her chest, wishing her daughter would come downstairs already. Again, the girl had slept in late, and she was continually waking up later every day. Many times Deidre would have to drive her daughter to school, making her late for work. It was a minor inconvenience, but that wasn't the point. She glanced at her watch again until the soft sound of footsteps on the stairs padded gently in her ears. Deidre shook her head, toying with the idea of sending Eiluned to a shrink.
Racheal knocked on Eiluned's door and waited, tapping her foot. "Why does she take so long these days? She hasn't ridden the bus in a week, her mom can't be happy." She knocked again and was rewarded with footsteps coming towards the door. It opened to show Eiluned's mom, looking slightly annoyed.
Racheal tried to hide a smile. "She slept in again?" At the woman's nod, she chuckled. "She going to make the bus today?"
